JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- All lanes are back open after a deadly crash involving a JSO police cruiser and a motorcycle on the Westside. The victim has been identified as Ray Bullard, 56.

The crash happened at the intersection of Jammes Road and Wilson Boulevard Tuesday morning. The intersection was closed for about four hours as JSO investigated.

JSO Chief Annie Smith said two officers were driving westbound on Wilson Boulevard, responding to a suicide call at 3:15 a.m, when the collision happened. She said the motorcycle was headed southbound on Jammes Road when it hit one of the patrol cars. JSO posted video of the aftermath crash on its Instagram page.

Police report the driver of that motorcycle died on the scene. The officer driving the cruiser, identified as J.T. Kramarsic, was knocked unconscious and transported to UF Health. He is expected to recover.

Smith said witnesses reported seeing the officer's emergency lights on. She said there are conflicting reports over whether the officer had a red or green traffic light.

JSO is investigating the crash.

Bet the officer might been texting at his computer as well. Should check the computer records before they get "wiped" or deleted to confirm this.
