Multiple crews respond to church fire on Westside

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- More than a dozen fire crews responded to a church fire on Jacksonville's west side Friday around 4:30 a.m.

Jacksonville Fire & Rescue Department Public Information Officer
Thomas Francis tells Action News a fire started at the back of the vacant church, right across the street from the a Jacksonville Public Library off 103rd Street.

15 fire trucks were called in to help extinguish it.

JFRD tells Action News the fire was contained and has since been put out.

Francis says the fire marshal 
has been called to investigate, but no foul play is suspected.
