JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Action News has new details about a murder-for-hire plot.
Diana Reaves Costarakis is charged with trying to hire an off duty-duty police officer to kill her daughter in law in October 2013.
Action News obtained a new video of the takedown. We could only see about 10 seconds, but it showed Costarakis sitting in her car waiting for the off-duty officer. Most of the audio can't be understood.
According to new police reports, Costarakis asked her mechanic to help her find someone to carry out her plan. The mechanic went to police to tell them about it.
Police said Costarakis even had code words. When the mechanic found someone, the reports say he would tell Costarakis that he had found someone to "fix her car."
Costarakis offered the undercover officer $5,000. The report said she pawned some of her items to come up with the cash and told the officer to take jewelry from her daughter-in-law's body.
