Signing day at Raines High School:

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - National Signing Day is upon us and throughout this Wednesday we'll be traveling all over Jacksonville to cover the action. For me the day starts at Raines High School where they sure know how to make NSD an event. The band in the gym and packed bleachers greeted four football players signing their letters of intent.

Some we already knew including Travaris Dorsey who has been committed to Florida for ages and he followed through with his Gators commitment. Teammate Alex Gardner is going to FIU, the running back excited after seeing the Jags Johnathan Cyprien make it to the NFL out of the Miami school currently in the Sun Belt Conference. Also Troy Townsend goes to Central State in Ohio.

The big news from Raines came from Lamont Simmons, the cornerback choosing between Arkansas, Auburn, Penn State and USC (the California one!). In the end Simmons made a little history becoming the first Jacksonville football player to attend Southern Cal. More updates coming throughout the day with the next stop at Bolles.
