JACKSONVILLE, Fla -- While not a washout, there will be rain at times this weekend. But first near record warmth for much of the area with highs in the 80s & close to the record for Jacksonville (JIA) of 85 degrees. Gusty southwest winds will blow 15-25 mph and aggravate an already high oak pollen count. A stationary front will focus numerous showers and a few thunderstorms over primarily inland Southeast Georgia late today into this evening. After 1-2" of rain Friday night, another 1-2", locally more will be possible through tonight causing some minor urban and small stream flooding and ponding of water on roads and highways. A few isolated to widely scattered showers will develop through the afternoon and evening across metro Jacksonville and other parts of Northeast Florida, but rain will be fleeting and -- at worst -- briefly heavy. The front will shift southward tonight spreading showers and isolated thunderstorms into Jacksonville and Northeast Florida late evening and overnight. The majority of the rain should fall after "Monster Jam" at EverBank Field though a quick shower will be possible. As the front stalls south of Jacksonville Sunday, there will be considerable cloudiness, cooler temperatures and a few scattered showers.
