Negligence charge dropped in gas station explosion
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The state attorney's office dropped a charge in the 2011 gas station explosion in St. Johns County.
Driver David Cowles faced a single misdemeanor charge after he was accused of leaving his truck unattended while refilling tanks.
Investigators say that was partly to blame when those tanks exploded at a BP station in St Augustine. He suffered burns.
