JACKSONVILLE, Fla.-- It was a wild morning for Angela Talley. Gunshots started flying while she slept, and her guard was completely down.
"It sounded like it was in my house and then I heard the 'pop, pop, pop' afterward," she said.
A bullet came through Talley's front door. The mark looks small from the outside, but once you go in, the damage is clear.
That's not all. Talley says the side of her home was riddled, her phone line was shot, and John Parker himself lay dead in front of her car.
Across the street, Glenn McKey says a bullet richocheted off the wall where her mother sleeps.
"I was sitting at my computer and I heard something say 'boom boom' and then boom boom," she explained.
Neighbors say they have their suspicions about what went down between cops and John Parker. They tell us drugs and violence are common in that area, but no excuse for death.
"We're talking about moving out of here this week. It's not the first incident, it won't be the last," Misty Lunseford said.
Talley says she never imagined anything like this would ever happen. She hates someone lost their life, and hopes the neighborhood can regroup.
"It's just traumatic to know you live in an environment, and I know things happen, but for it to happen at your house. It's traumatic," she said.
