New Year's Day robber convicted; faces life in prison
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Marguiste Deramius McDonald, 29, was convicted by a Duval County jury Wednesday for the robbery of a man at the Shell Gas Station along Ramona Boulevard.
McDonald was parked at a gas pump when he saw the victim and demanded the man give him $5 for gas.
As the victim opened his wallet, McDonald fired a shot into the air and demanded all of the victim’s money. McDonald then fled the area with $200 in cash.
JSO later found McDonald and arrested the then suspect.
McDonald faces up to life in prison and was already facing conviction of a 2004 felony for the Sale of Cocaine.
McDonald will be sentenced the week of April 30, 2013.
