JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - New documents have been released in the murder trial of Michael Dunn, and a judge ruled that 180 hours of jailhouse phone calls can be released before the trial.

But an assistant state attorney said that the calls won't be available for nine to 10 weeks, well after the Feb 3rd trial start date.

The problem is those 180 hours must be redacted, or edited, by an attorney, and there's only one attorney in the State Attorney's Office that can do it. The office also wants to charge media outlets $3,000 for this public information.

Dunn is accused of shooting and killing 17-year-old Wolfson High School student Jordan Davis in a confrontation over loud music in November 2012.

Documents released Friday show a list of evidence collected at the scene, including fingernail clippings and jewelry from Davis.

Also recovered at the scene, a 9-mm pistol, gun casings, bullets and nunchucks.

Action News took a close look at the witness list and found one of the men who saw the shooting and may be called to testify is Shawn Atkins, who is serving seven years in prison for breaking into Somer Thompson's family home in Orange Park and stealing more than $15,000 in jewelry.

Dunn's attorney said he believes the pretrial publicity will hurt his client's chances at a fair trial.

Jury selection begins Feb. 3rd.

This month Michael Dunn will be sentenced, hopefully for 60 years plus 15 years without parole. Michael Dunn will no longer be able to hide in his county jail cell. He'll be with the general prison population he called "animals." They aren't exempt from the media and know about the multiple racist and hate comments Michael Dunn has made by phone and mail. If he's not killed by another prisoner, he'll be subject to beatings, HIV, Hepatitis, gang rapes. Even though Michael Dunn complained about his county jail cell amongst other things, he'll soon learn it was a picnic compared to what's next for him. Good riddance to bad trash.

Does not matter if you are tired of hearing other peoples music. It is a very brief inconvenience you have to deal with. It is no reason to start a confrontation that ends in a tragedy. Mr Dunn did not act as a responsible gun owner. I am a United States Marine and a gun owner. Anytime you discharge your weapon in a public place you must inform law enforcement. Dunn's "I did not know anyone was killed until the next morning" excuse is very unacceptable.

When is The city of Jacksonville & the Jacksonville Sheriffs Dept going to start enforcing the Sound ordnance restrictions in the area. I believe the public is tired of listening to other peoples "music" while pumping gas or sitting at a stop light.

I'm tired of hearing about this case. The public doesn't need to know about phone calls or documents until they are presented in the trial.
