New fire station opens in Bartram Springs neighborhood
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- City leaders celebrated the opening of a new fire station in the Bartram neighborhood.
Fire Station No. 62 will help serve parts of southwest Jacksonville. It's a welcome sight for homeowners.
Crews broke ground on the $2.4 million facility last summer.
Mayor Alvin Brown joined Jacksonville Fire Rescue Chief Marty Senterfitt and Councilman Matt Schellenberg for the grand opening, which featured a traditional "uncoupling of hose" ceremony.
