New judge to preside over case of murdered UF student
GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- The former University of Florida student accused of beating & killing his roommate will face a new judge as attorneys take more time to prepare for trial.
Pedro Bravo is jailed for the death of 18-year-old Christian Aguilar. He appeared briefly in court Tuesday. Judge Martha Lott is stepping down from the case because she is retiring at the end of her term. A new judge has yet to be selected to take over the proceedings.
No new evidence was submitted at the hearing. Investigators say Bravo got into an argument with Aquilar late last year and beat him up. After several weeks, Aguilar's body was discovered miles away in Levy County.
