NASSAU COUNTY, Fla. -- Nassau County Sheriff's Office and Advanced Disposal have partnered up to create a program that will provide help to neighborhoods in Nassau County.

The title of this safety program is called Advanced Alert.

Nassau County's sheriff says he
is pleased to be involved with the safety program.

"This type of neighborhood watch initiative will enhance the safety of Nassau County communities and provide law enforcement officers with an extra set of eyes on the street to protect our neighborhoods and our citizens," said Sheriff Bill Leeper.

Advanced Disposal's employees have been trained on what to look out for and how to respond when there is an emergency, Leeper said.

If the employees encounter anything
out of the ordinary on their routes, they are asked to pull over somewhere safe and call emergency officials or their supervisor, according to the Sheriff's Office.
