JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Jeremiah Corbett, 21, was sentenced to life in the deadly shooting outside Club Menage in September 2010.
Corbett was convicted earlier this year in the shooting death of 14-year-old Horace James Jr. The victim was struck by a stray bullet after a fight erupted outside the club.
Corbett was convicted in February of murder, attempted murder, throwing deadly missiles, and possession of a firearm. He was sentenced to 25 years each for the first two charges and 15 years each for the second two. By law, 25 years is considered a life sentence.
In September 2010, Corbett got into an argument outside Club Menage on University Boulevard. After the argument, Corbett fired shots from the van in which he was a passenger. One bullet hit James in the head, killing him. Another bullet struck and injured a 17-year-old girl.
