JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A spokesperson for St. Johns County Schools says no children were injured after their bus was rear-ended on the State Road 206 exit ramp from Interstate 95.
An SUV collided with the school bus and ended up wedged underneath the back end. The woman driving the SUV was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. She's been identified as 43-year-old Darla Boyd. She told investigators she lost control of her car when something fell from the passenger seat. She reached over to pick it up and failed to stop in time.
A St. Johns County Schools spokesperson says the bus involved in the crash is Bus #124, which was taking 39 students to Pedro Menendez High School. They continued on to school in another bus.
