It would be too much to ask that instead of the Military and SS receivers, elected officials take the hit of no pay until they agree on a budget.

Those who rely on social security for medicine, food, ect, ect, imagine how many elderly will become sick or worse. How can anybody let this happen, do not stop social security they rely on this to survive it is all they have, one day you will need social security in order to survive you all would not like it if they stopped your only means of income..... I CAN NOT even believe this! Our senior citizens totally depend on this income to survive(usually barely)not to mention people on disability such as myself. I always worked hard in my life here in the good ole' USA and paid taxes! Take from the poor and keep the rich comfortable seems to be a fact! All of the tax payers money that is wasted or misused-unbelievable! Guess we need to get into another war and pay out over a million dollars a day for what? Our young men and women are losing their lives or their limbs- for what? What a terrible waste. Our government needs to get their priorities straight and start taking care of our people and our country! God bless us all- we surely need it!

I really don't see how he can stop social security, social security is NOT an entitlement you and your employer were forced to contribute 15% of your income to it before taxes. Mr. Obama, go ahead and I'll never worry about social security or any other income the rest of my life. TRUST ME.

I vote to not pay wages to Obama, Republicans, and Democrats until they resolve the budget issue. They might work faster and harder to get a paycheck and stop wasting days and weeks of pointless arguing. (Our tax dollars hard at work???)

I think its time for the American People to have an updated current government spending list and let the people vote on where cuts should be made because obviously our administration in Washington can't do their jobs. It's also well overdue to reduce our administrative overhead in Washington, because you can bet they wont be taking any pay cuts. Time for "Reform".
