CLAY COUNTY, Fla. – Police are investigating a crash that killed a local woman in Keystone Heights.

It happened Thursday night around 11:15 pm on State Route 100.

According to the Clay County Sheriff’s Office, Angela Cook was driving westbound on SR 100 without her vehicle’s headlights turned on.

Cook’s vehicle veered into the eastbound lane and slammed into another vehicle, before hitting a fence.

Investigators say Cook wasn’t wearing a seatbelt and was thrown into the passenger side of her vehicle.

She was taken to the hospital where she was pronounced dead.

The other driver was hurt but not seriously.

Police says it’s not clear if alcohol was involved, but the crash is under investigation.
