JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Florida Department of Transportation is temporarily closing several lanes of I-295 east/State Road 9A between Philips Highway (US 1) and Baymeadows Road starting Monday, July 9 for construction.
Beginning Monday at 8:00 p.m., the FDOT will close one lane in both the northbound and southbound directions.
At 11:00 p.m., the Southbound lanes will reopen. However, all northbound lanes of the interstate will close. Roads will reopen Tuesday, July 10 at 5:00 a.m.
During the closure, drivers heading northbound on I-295 east/State Road 9A from the I-95 interchange will exit at Philips Highway and travel north to Southside Boulevard and then east on Baymeadows Road to return to I-295 east/State Road 9A.
Southbound I-295 east/State road 9A will remain open to motorists.
Construction of the new State Road 9B from I-295 east/State Road 9A traveling south to US 1 is scheduled for completion in late 2012.
