ST. SIMONS ISLAND, Ga. -- The video of a woman in St. Simons Island being arrested for allegedly driving under the influence has gone viral.

It had 30,000 views Thursday night and now nearly 90,000. The scuffle is what's got so many people questioning if the officer used excessive force.

"I find it difficult to believe that an officer would sling someone to the ground. I got a feeling the movement got out of control and she ends up on the ground," said retired FBI Agent, Ron Wirth.

Witnesses say 70-year-old Kathleen Allegrone rear-ended a car at the traffic light, and when police showed up, she refused to roll down her window.

Based on the video, it took officers at least three minutes to get her out of the vehicle. As they walked her to their patrol car, there was an apparent struggle.

"She's either resisting or having a great deal of difficulty walking," said Wirth.

At that point, officers still didn't have Allegrone in handcuffs so they placed her on the hood of the car. Things then get tricky because several people walk right in front of the camera for just a few seconds, and as soon as they move, the woman is on the ground.

Witnesses say you can see the officer turn his body away from the car and his arm motions downward. Then you hear that chilling sound.

"The question is what did she do? What were her actions that caused the officer to put her in that position to get her down on the ground," said Wirth.

Wirth said those few moments will be key in this investigation.
