OCALA, Fla. -- A pedestrian was killed Sunday after being struck by an SUV along US 441 in Marion County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Troopers identified the pedestrian as 52-year-old Raoul Alicea of Ocala.

They say Alicea was walking southbound on US 441 when a Blazer driven by Angelita Gardener struck him.

Rescue crews responded to the incident shortly before 6:30 a.m.

No other injuries were reported in the crash.

Alcohol results are still pending and the investigation is ongoing.

Seen gentleman in the country walking down the middle of the road at night in dark clothing. He was obviously drunk. There was side walk but for some reason he was walking in middle of road. Make sure test the deceased for drugs and alcohol as well.
