JACKSONVILLE, Fla.-- A local victim is telling Action News how he tracked down a woman accused of drinking and driving and hit and run.
Police say Diana Jones was involved in four different hit and runs Tuesday night.
Zachary Demers was on his way out to eat when his SUV was hit. He didn't know it then, but the woman charged with hitting him was JSO police officer Diana Jones.
Police say Jones was drunk when she left a trail of destruction on the Southside.
"She was coming out of the plaza ... She was merging around a lot of traffic, and a lot of honking," said Demers. "She was 10 feet from my car and just floored it and hit me at 20 mph."
Police say Jones hit several cars. Demers says he got out of his SUV to look at the damage and try to talk to Jones. "I saw her face, straight, no reaction at all," said Demers.
Demers says that's when he called her fellow officers to take care of the problem. Now, he just hopes Jones doesn't end up behind the wheel again.
"I hope she doesn't get away with this," said Demers.
Jones was off duty when this happened. She's charged with several DUIs and reckless driving.
