ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. -- A number of officers at the St. Augustine Beach Police Department have lost their computer privileges until further notice due to an internal investigation.

The investigation is linked to the allegations levied against Chief Richard Hedges and Assistant Chief Daniel Decoursey. Ten of the city's 14 officers accused the leaders of a host of improper activities.

The most serious claims included failure to collect evidence in a rape investigation, failing to report a missing police issued handgun, and improperly confiscating the truck of a man who committed suicide.

Action News has learned the St. Johns County Sheriff's Office is conducting an internal affairs investigation on the chief and the computer system and asked FDLE to suspend computer privileges to certain officers.
