JACKSONVILLE, Fla -- A wet and stormy weekend at times though there will a few dry periods.  Scattered showers and thunderstorms with brief periods of heavy rain will occur this evening but diminish between 7 and 9pm.  So for High School football games -- the "Friday Night Blitz" there will some lingering showers and possibly a thunderstorm mainly early in the games but many places will be dry.  Expect very warm and humid temperatures in the 80s.  Some of the fields will be muddy but any storm delays should not last long.
The weekend will be wet and stormy.  Saturday will begin with sun but showers and storms will pop by noon then continue through the afternoon into the evening with heavy downpours at times.  Keep an eye to the sky for fast-changing weather conditions.  Temperatures will still top out near 90 degrees before rain moves in.
Sunday looks especially wet thanks to the combination of an approaching cold front and the remnants of "Isaac" moving across North Florida.  Rain will be heavy at times particularly over Northeast Florida.  Total rainfall through Sunday night will average 1-3" but 4"+ in some spots across Northeast Florida with an average of 1-2", locally 3" across Southeast Georgia.  A moderate to high rip current risk will continue at area beaches through the weekend so use caution if planning to go into the ocean.
