JACKSONVILLE, Fla -- Very warm, humid air combined with a weak front and upper level disturbance will lead to the development of showers and thunderstorms into this evening across metro Jacksonville, Northeast Florida and Southeast Georgia.  Cells will move east/northeast at 10-20 mph and produce gusty winds, very heavy rain and frequent lightning.  Some spots will pick up a quick 1-2" of rain, locally up to 3".  Expect fast-changing weather conditions through the afternoon commute.  A cold front will finally move through the area by Tuesday morning bringing a nice change from the long stretch of heat and humidity.  Highs Tuesday afternoon will only top out in the mid 70s to around 80s with lows by Wednesday morning in the 50s inland, mid 60s to low 70s near the coast.  Click here to send First Alert weather photos and video.
