One person shot in flash mob burglary party
LAKE CITY, Fla. -- One person is recovering after being shot in the leg during an unauthorized party at the Columbia County Women's Club.
The Lake City Police Department responded to a call at 1:09 a.m. at the Women's Club at 655 N.E. Martin Luther King Street. There they found a teenager shot in the leg. He told officers there was an argument but was unable to name who shot him. That teenager was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The teen was attending an unauthorized party at the club. According to the clubs Manager, the club was rented out earlier in the evening but vacated and locked up by 7 p.m. Officers then found a rear door of the building to be kicked in. Witnesses say the impromptu party included more than 100 people and a DJ. Officers also noted an odor of alcohol and drugs throughout the building.
Police were unable to make an arrest because partygoers left the scene after the gunshot. If you know anything call The Lake City Police Department anonymously on the TIP line at (386) 719-2068.
