Shooting victim arrested
PALATKA, Fla. -- The investigation into the Putnam County shooting last week led to the arrest of shooting victim Tromell Camps. Camps has been charged with attempted first-degree murder and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon,
Police say Camps came to the Bay Street home with two handguns, a fight broke out and Camps shot the resident. Camps was shot multiple times. Police don't know yet what led to the fight or how the people might be connected.
PUTNAM COUNTY, Fla. -- The Putnam County Sheriff's Office said one subject is in custody and is being questioned after a shooting Friday morning.
Deputy Paula Priester told Action News Tromell (T.J.) Camps was shot multiple times by Domanic Gaines at 410 E. Bay St. in Putnam County. Deputies said a call came in as a "disturbance with shots fired" at 6:10 a.m. Friday.
According to the Putnam County Sheriff's Office, Camps went to Gaines' home and that was when Camps was shot. He was taken to UF & Shands Gainesville.
A spokesman with the hospital said Camps was released later that same morning.
The shooting is still under investigation.
