If you change this law people will still suffer. The only difference will be, instead of an innocent young man who was gunned down by an angry man with a gun, It will be someone who dies at the hands of some thug out there because he was not allowed to protect himself and was to slow to outrun a bullit. Even if Mr Dunn does use the stand your ground defense he probably won't get away with it. Let the justice system do it's job and find out what really happened before you lynch this law just because you don't like what it looks like.

There is a certain 'race' of people who walk around letting their kids carry illegal guns KILLING EACH OTHER daily here in Jax, but let ONE OR TWO idiots shoot one of them and they SCREAM FOUL AND WANT TO DISARM EVERYONE? Doesn't ANYONE see some are trying to KICK THE U.S. CONSTITUTION out the door to allow their own form of uncivilized breeding to take over our streets? I mean has this d@mn 'entitlement' crap made all his 'followers' stupid in the head or something? Just as some let their teenagers 'takeover' the streets, the 'loudmouths' want to take over the Government so NO ONE will be safe or free. How stupid and embarrassing. I thought as God's 'human race', all of us had 'evolved' to the civility of 'HIS WORD' by now as he commanded us to...I guess not...I DO KNOW there are STILL young children in this Country of ALL races whose deaths are still crying for JUSTICE. WHO RIGHTS should we take away for THOSE? WHO SHOULD WE BLAME? QUIT BEING STUPID, it is always hard to bury a beloved child and no child should ever die before his/her parents by ANY MEANS...there is NEVER any justice in that alone. But to CLEARLY invade EVERYONE'S RIGHT to defend oneself will hurt every DECENT percent left behind. I am not the most naive or the smartest apple in the bunch, but I do know when prayers have been forgotten, and THAT is scary. Pray for the 'JUST FACTS TO BE REVEALED', to honor this child, instead of trying to place blame on others or laws that may or may not apply.

News flash to Davis family: repealing SYG won’t affect the case against Dunn. You can’t nullify a defense after-the-fact that was lawful at the time of the alleged crime. Question to anybody: how do you set up a counter-petition in favor of SYG? Personally, I’d like to wait until after Dunn’s trial. I want to see the evidence supporting or undermining his claim that Jordan Davis raised a shotgun in his direction. If Davis did have a gun, then Dunn should walk. If he didn’t then Dunn should be convicted. Either way, Floridians shouldn’t have to try to run away when a thug threatens them with death or serious bodily injury. Sometimes that might be the wisest course of action; but, no one should have to try to run away and dodge the bullets or risk going to jail for protecting himself.

Pay attention people. There is nothing wrong with the law!!! The only thing that needs to be done is to enforce it. If this whole thing happened the way that the media is describing it (and why would anyone ever question the veracity of the media) then Dunn needs to be put in jail for murder. Repealing this law accomplishes nothing in ridding our society of lunatics.
