JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- With just a trace of rain in Jacksonville on Tuesday, we're left with drier air and a growing rainfall deficit. Since January 1, 2013, Jacksonville International has received 1.27 inches of rain. Compare that with the normal amount (5.29"). That leaves us 4.12" below normal for the year.
With only 23.5% of what we should have in the rain bucket for the year, we're looking for rain. The short-term First Alert Forecast is dry, however.
On Friday, our chances for a passing shower go up with a warm front on the move through the area. But the best opportunity for soaking showers will be in Georgia. Same scenario on Saturday with the front to the north of Jacksonville.
The best chance for rain in the River City comes early next week (Monday) as the stalled front moves back south in our direction.
