JACKSONVILLE, Fla -- A strong cold front will sweep across metro Jacksonville, Northeast Florida and Southeast Georgia overnight preceded by a weakening line of heavy showers and gusty winds. Wind gusts of 40-50 mph will be possible as the rain approaches but rain amounts will be less than a half inch and -- in many cases -- less than a quarter of an inch. Following the front will be clearing skies, gusty northwest winds and much colder temperatures. After an all-time January high of 85 Wednesday afternoon, temperatures Thursday will struggle to reach 60 degrees. A light inland frost and freeze will occur early Friday and Saturday.
