JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A plea deal has been reached for the teenagers accused of shooting and killing Makia Coney, 17, last February.
Conner Pridgen and Charles Southern pleaded guilty to 2nd degree murder in court this morning. They each face a 40 years to life sentence.
They will be sentenced in October.
Makia was reported missing after not returning to campus for the extended day program.
Coney’s body was found in a wooded area not far from campus.
Fellow classmates Charles Southern and Conner Pridgen first admitted to taking turns shooting her, but later pleaded innocent.
