PALM COAST, Fla. -- Three teenagers from Palm Coast are facing felony charges in connection with a series of car break-ins.
Authorities arrested two 16 year old boys, and a 17-year-old boy. One 16 year old faces charges connected to nine of the break-ins.
The thefts took place in the Indian Trails neighborhood on July 11.
Deputies say the suspects spent the overnight hours breaking into unlocked cars. Authorities say the teens stole CD players, laptops, portable air compressors, a purse and a cellphone.
Investigators recovered the stolen property from the attic of a 17-year-old suspect.
The two 16 year olds are being held at the Division of Juvenile Justice in Daytona Beach. The 17 year old is locked up in the Flagler County Jail. The teens could face more charges.
"These teenagers should have been at home, not on the streets," said Sheriff Donald W. Fleming. "The crimes they committed are crimes of opportunity. Residents need to remember to lock their vehicles wherever they are being parked. This is one of those good habits to acquire."
