JACKSONVILLE, Fla -- Hundreds of kids rushed into a Northside Walmart and terrorized the store. Police say the group caused $1,500 worth of damage. And the entire ordeal was caught on camera and posted to the internet.
It's now sparking new outrage on the Northside.
In the video, kids can be seen throwing produce and wreaking havoc inside the store.
"That's just totally uncalled for in this community and this community should not tolerate this," said Pastor RL Gundy of Mt Sinai Missionary Baptist Church.
He is disgusted by what he sees happening in his neighborhood. He says the actions of these kids put a black eye on the Northside.
"I think we have reached a point in time where there are some moral issues, some ethical issues that have to be addressed," he said.
Pastor Gundy says this was a huge safety issue. He says luckily no one was hurt, but someone easily could have been. He says kids need to be held responsible their actions. He says the problem starts at home.
"In all cases, it starts with the parents but then also the cases when parents aren't in the home, and then, that's when we as society as churches as civic leaders and civic organizations need to step in to do something about it."
Pastor Gundy says there are programs at his church to help moms and dads become better parents.
As for the kids involved in the smash mob, he says they should be forced to clean the store, write an apology and their parents should have to pay for the damage.
So far, no arrests have been made in this case. Anyone with information is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 1-866-845-TIPS. You will remain anonymous and could be eligible for a cash reward up to $1,000.
