JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Investigators say a 66-year-old man was killed as he tried to cross the street in the 1300 block of Cassat Avenue Saturday evening.

The incident happened near the intersection with Tunis Street and involved a Saturn four-door driven by an 18-year-old, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

The 18-year-old was reportedly driving southbound on Cassat Avenue when he hit the pedestrian.

Investigators believe alcohol, drugs or speed played a factor in the crash.

The identities of the driver and the pedestrian have not been released.

Police tell Action News that at this point no charges are pending.

Dear Editor: The last three paragraphs of this "story" are one sentence each, meaning they aren’t really paragraphs. Also, how can the Investigators believe alcohol, drugs OR speed played a factor in the crash but tell Action News that at this point no charges are pending? Please advise?
