The sailors they interviewed sounded a bit whinny. Really? You get to stay in port with your loved ones. You are active duty military, you are supposed to be ready to move out within hours. When we served we had to have our duffel bag packed at all times. Ready to deploy within hours of what is called "a recall." I like that this ship is here, if need be it can leave the dock, move out to the ocean to protect Florida shores. That is what I want from our military, protect the USA.

Y'all got the word straight from a local bartender, that proves it "we're vulnerable." No statement from the Pentagon, Congress or the Navy....just barmaid...that's it. That's what y'all news......please!

If you watch video you see she is a bartender at a local pub that is happy the sailors are staying. This means more customers at the bar. Info about the ship from wiki is "USS Gettysburg (CG-64) is a Ticonderoga-class guided-missile cruiser in the United States Navy. She is named for the Battle of Gettysburg during the American Civil War. She was built at the Bath Iron Works in Maine." Her most recent notable deployment invovled capturing pirates off of Africa. As far budget cuts go we can't keep fighting endless wars and taking in no resources to sustain us and instead giving out resources to countries we at war with.
