JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The St. Johns Town Center's third phase of expansion is now underway. According to the Simon Property Group, Inc., the new phase will be a dedicated pedestrian-only wing with attractive architectural features and customer-friendly amenities.
"This enhancement will appeal to our entire customer base, which includes not only Northeast Florida and southern Georgia residents, but our vibrant tourism traffic as well," said St. Johns Town Center's general manager, Angela Crowder.
The area will be surrounded by both local and national retailers, all anchored by Northeast Florida's first Nordstrom store.
"We already have commitments with national and local retailers, and many of these additions will be new to the Jacksonville market and will be made public later this year," Crowder said.
St. Johns Town Center's newest retail area will be located on the southwest end of the property between Louis Vuitton and Brooks Brothers and will feature more than 158,000 square feet of retail space. The anticipated opening for the new wing is fall 2014.
It's not just the shopping area getting a revamp. Nearly 600 new parking spaces are being added. They will be located behind Ethan Allen and Ovinte, along Big Island Drive and in the east parking lot
The new parking areas are expected to open in phases, with the first available in early October 2013. All new parking lots will be completed by November 15 in time for holiday shopping.
