Plane makes emergency landing on I-95
MCINTOSH COUNTY, Ga. -- A small plane made an unexpected merge into traffic along I-95 in southeast Georgia.
John Wright, a pilot from Alabama, made an emergency landing in the northbound lanes of the highway near the McIntosh and Glynn County lines this afternoon.
No word on what forced the fixed wing single engine plane to the ground. The pilot was the only person on board. He was not hurt. The emergency landing did not cause any problems on the highway.
Troopers with the Georgia State Patrol escorted the plane to the Department Of Transportation weigh station in McIntosh County.
The Federal Aviation Administration investigation is ongoing.
