JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (WOKV) -- A plea deal is officially on the table for the Jacksonville man charged with supporting terrorism overseas.

During a status hearing for Shelton Bell on Tuesday, his public defender Lisa Call asked the Magistrate for a 30 day continuance. She told him she had received a plea offer from the US Attorney's Office last week but had not yet had the time to review it with Bell. She told the court she believes the case will "resolve" before trial.

The Magistrate set a plea deadline for March 19. If the case does move forward to trial, it is now scheduled for April 7.

Bell was indicted at 19 years old for "Conspiracy to Provide Material Support to Terrorists" and "Attempt to Provide Material Support to Terrorists." The indictment against Bell alleges that he recruited and trained locally for what he calls a violent "jihad" overseas. He also allegedly traveled abroad with the intent of supporting a terrorist organization.

Call and Kevin Frein with the U.S. Attorney's Office both declined to further comment after the hearing.

Ask the United States government why Bush was never questioned why over 300,000 veterans are sick from desert storm. Offically the total is 200,000 but there another hundred thousand that never deployed got sick, some deployed but west or east of an imaginary line. Some that were in supporting countries that got sick not recognized. If someone poisoned troops wouldn't that be an act of terrorism? Yet Bush has never been asked to testify about what he knows or didn't know about why this happened. Define terrorism isn't it intentionally causing harm to US citizens for some purpose or political reason? Double standard in USA now days.
