JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Police charged Michael Day, 45, with murder after they say he killed 33-year-old woman, during a domestic dispute, on Friday.

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office originally responded to the Sunderland Road area and found Kendra Nagy dead from a gunshot and Day suffering an self-inflicted gunshot to the head.

The night before Nagy died, she and Day were together at a restaurant that Nagy worked at, but wasn't working that evening, according to the Sheriff's Office. Day was "belligerent" by talking down towards Nagy that whole evening, detectives said.

According to JSO, Nagy's friends showed up to her house because she didn't go to work. Butler said Day pointed Nagy's friends to the room she was in and saw that she was dead. At that time, Day had a self-inflicted gunshot wound to his head.

Day is in the hospital, but will be OK, according to the Sheriff's Office.
