Police: Man used stolen scooter to rob woman

LAKE CITY, Fla. -- Columbia County Sheriff's deputies say a man used a stolen scooter to rob a woman standing on a street corner.

Bruce Harris, 22, was arrested after a woman called police saying she had been robbed on S.W. Diamond Ct. Tuesday. The report says Harris pulled up on a scooter and snatched $150 from her purse. As he drove off, the woman says he told her he had a gun. The muffler from the scooter hit the woman as it left. The report did not indicate any injuries.

Harris was discovered in a nearby storage shed with the scooter, along with a shotgun and a handgun. Investigators say the motorized bike was reported stolen out of Alachua County.

Harris faces multiple charges.
