SANFORD, Fla. -- A family trip to the theme parks ended with a mother being arrested after police said she left her children at a 7-Eleven in Sanford and told them to sleep in the woods.

The Seminole County Sheriff's Office said 32-year-old Tiffany Buffkin was heading back to her home in Jacksonville on Monday with her boyfriend and two children when investigators said an argument happened.

According to authorities, the boyfriend dropped Buffkin and her kids off at the 7-Eleven on State Road 46 and left.

"The female then indicated to the 13-year-old that the argument was his fault and his punishment was to sleep in the woods for the night," said Kim Cannaday of the Seminole County Sheriff's Office.

According to deputies, one of the kids was in the back sleeping while the other child was in the front of the store trying to call friends or relatives, someone to come pick him up.

The teen eventually made contact with deputies, who spent 30 minutes talking to him and his brother, trying to find where his mother had gone.

That's when deputies said the mother stumbled down the walkway and began to get angry and violent.

Deputies said Buffkin was belligerent and uncooperative, saying she even tried to bite a deputy.

Buffkin was booked on five charges, including two charges of child neglect.

The children were turned over to family, and the case was forwarded to the Department of Children and Families.

Appears to be another case of a foolish female choosing the current male in her life over her children. Wonder where their father is and if it can become the one to care for them. The damage done to children when their "mother" makes these choices is difficult~not impossible~to get over to become a productive citizen. Makes my heart ache for children in this type of situation. Prayers for them.

Why does this woman get the title of 'WHITE' trash, imtellin? Had she been black would you have called her 'black trash'? Hispanic-brown trash? I doubt it...I was always taught to hold my tongue, but if I couldn't, be careful, that I really don't have the right to Judge. I know I am guilty of it still, but I pray everyday to stop. I also heard that God doesn't make 'trash' no matter what race they are...and this is the best part... GODS WORD IS FINAL...not mine. This girl looks like a naive child who shouldn't even be having kids...I have no idea what she went through to make her this way to endanger herself and her children. But she will either 'loose it all and her kids', or she will wake up and do better for herself so she can find happiness and keep her children. Trashy people CHOOSE to live that way without ever changing. This one sounds 'wounded', stuck and way too young to know how to change. My opinion and I'm sticking to it.

Maybe she didn't know about travelers aid.....POS man for dropping her at a 7-11 with kids too....he is not worthy of being called a man or breathing in my opinion! He CAN't be the daddy caring so little for them like that! Sounds like she needs to serve him with walking papers. What's up with people here punishing their kids by making them sleep outside???.....this is like the 8th story I've heard like this.

I hope he is charged with child neglect/abuse too....but I bet this 'boyfriend' isn't the daddy...so he probably won't be charged...how traumatic for these poor kids... the mom looks drunk in pic...and needs serious help.

Sounds like to me the one that should be in jail if any is the boyfriend. While he can get pissed at her he should dropped her off with family not at some place out in the middle of nowhere.
