SOUTH DAYTONA, Fla. -- The driver who police said hit and killed a skateboarder is undergoing a mental evaluation.

Officers said 22-year-old Stephen Wilson was hit and killed by Jody Arcieri while he was skateboarding on U.S. 1 near Bellewood Avenue in South Daytona.

Arcieri stayed at the scene and when police arrived, her vehicle was up on the curb with the windshield smashed.

She was taken into custody and later charged with possession of narcotics.

Police said they received conflicting information from eyewitnesses about how the crash happened.

I am confused, the headline reads "Woman accused of hitting, killing skateboarder" and the opening sentence is "The driver who police said was hit and killed by a skateboarder".
