CRESCENT CITY, Fla. - A woman is in jail after police say she stabbed her boyfriend after an argument.

The Putnam County Sheriff's Office responded to 127 Pine Forest Circle at 10:45 a.m. Thursday in reference to a battery.

Deputies say Kiarious Smith said he had been stabbed by his girlfriend, Shemia Monet Washington. The investigation found Smith and Washington got into an argument then Washington grabbed a kitchen knife and stabbed Smith at least twice.

Washington claimed she was defending herself, but police say their stories didn't match up. Smith had minor injuries to his arms and declined medical assistance.

Washington was charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.

If she had "minor injuries' then she may well have been defending herself if he grabbed her...sounds to me like he's may have abused her before and she wasn't going to take it anymore. If that's the case, she should have dumped him the FIRST time he was verbally or physically abusive. ANY man who can be verbally abusive can become physically abusive...and visa versa, women too.
