Police: Woman targeted for sex assault because she couldn't speak English
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A man admits to kidnapping and sexually assaulting a woman that police believe was targeted because of inability to speak English.
Investigators say 49-year-old Alphonso Haynes grabbed the woman from outside the Downtown Library on N. Laura Street and forced her into a car. He later called a family member of the victim to say he had her.
Police found the woman based on the description of the car she gave her child. Through an interpreter she explained what happened. Haynes then admitted to the acts. He is charged with kidnapping and sexual battery.
