Police chase ends in man's garage in Duval County

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A local man is behind bars after a police chase in Clay County.

Deputies say 22-year-old Terrell Bennett took off during a traffic stop in Clay County, crossed county lines and ended up crashing his vehicle into the garage of a business on Blanding Boulevard in Duval County. 

Investigators say Terrell also tried to run over a Clay County deputy during his getaway. No one was hurt.
 
The crash caused $50,000 in damage to the business and Terrell's car was totaled.

Terrell is charged with aggravated assault for nearly hitting the deputy, driving on a suspended license, reckless driving and fleeing/eluding an officer.
