PALM COAST, Fla. -- A man from Palm Coast is behind bars after cops spotted him driving around with his 5-year-old daughter in the back seat.  His marijuana plant was sitting next to her.

On Tuesday evening, a woman called the Flagler County Sheriff's Office to say her former renters were growing drugs and hauling them into their car near Beacon Mill Lane.

Deputies followed the car and pulled it over for a broken tail light.

The responding deputy noticed a 4-foot-tall pot plant sitting in the back seat, right next to a 5-year-old girl.

Joshua Spaulding, 26, told police he went to his girlfriend's former residence to pick up his plant and a lighting system for a friend.

Spaudling was arrested and charged with child neglect, possession of drug paraphernalia and cultivation of marijuana.

Gee we have so much more crimes that need addressed than this. If only one plant was found in the back seat with a 5 YEAR OLD, it is just a plant. No 5 year old is going to EAT a plant unless the poor things been starved for days. It is not a meth lab people, it is a plant...with proven medicinal uses. STOP making it out as a HARD DRUG just because it was banned by the Fed Government to appease OTHER Countries decades ago. There are states in this country that have gotten out of debt and improved its entire economy by letting doctors prescribe this 'herb' for their sick patients. Go after the gangs and leave this poor plant alone.
