JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- According to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office, the body of Robert Ford, 58, was found in his Aldington Drive home just after 7 p.m. on Wednesday.
JSO responded to a family member's call who was worried because they had not heard from him in several days.
According to investigators, they had to force their way in the home and that's when they found Ford in advanced stages of decomposition.
"He was a real good old man he did no harm to nobody to deserve that," said neighbor Justin Parks.
According to Parks, Ford was the type of man who was quick to lend a helping hand.
"He was just kind, he would drive around to see how you're doing type of neighbor. He was a pretty good guy," added Parks.
JSO does suspect foul play but won't say how Ford died.
They are now searching for a white, 2002 Ford Ranger pickup truck with Florida tag Q722WZ.
The vehicle is registered to Ford's son, who still has not been located by authorities.
Police are calling the person who is in possession of that truck a person of interest in the case.
