JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Investigators told Action News they have a person of interest in a series of fires that occurred in a local neighborhood over the weekend.

One of the fires burned a home on Spearing Street. Cecil Hepler, 62, died after Sunday morning's fire.

Police believe one person set three other small fires that night. Investigators don't believe the arsonist meant to set the house on fire. The fire began in a barrel next to the house. Flames spread to the home.

Hepler, according to family members, collapsed in the back of the house.

The house fire is under investigation as a homicide, not murder.
