JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Hodges Boulevard was shut down late Monday night after a crash that sent two people to the hospital.
Detectives from the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office tell Action News a driver flipped his GMC pickup truck off the road. He was ejected from the vehicle and suffered life-threatening injuries. The female passenger was also seriously injured.
Police say the driver got into a fender-bender with another car stopped at a traffic light on Atlantic Boulevard at 8 p.m. He fled the scene and sped about a half-mile southbound on Hodges Boulevard before crossing the grass median and the northbound lanes before flipping his vehicle more than 10 yards off the road.
