ORANGE PARK, Fla. -- Police say they identified a man that reportedly offered to exchange a baby for food to visitors at a local hotel.

Orange Park police say the child was located in his mother’s custody at a motel on 103rd Street and is now in the custody of the Department of Children and Families.

Police say, the child is safe and healthy. No charges have yet been filed.

Police are not releasing the name and identity of the man involved.

The mother, Jaime Rathje, 32, was arrested on an unrelated warrant and booked into the Duval County Jail.

Police are discussing more possible charges with the State Attorney's Office.

And WHY has this news story reported the MOTHERS name only when it clearly states it has IDENTIFIED the man also? The mother may not have known he was doing this...but she is the one being "criminalized by news" instead of him.

Victims of Obamanoimics or criminals? It's very sad either way.

They may not have found any abuse this time, but what about the next time if they let them have custody back.

Thank God this poor little baby is found safe. And someone PLEASE ADOPT THIS CHILD so it will never be abused again.
