ORANGE PARK, Fla. -- Police have identified the suspect after two people were stabbed outside the Orange Park Mall on Sunday afternoon.

The Clay County Sheriff's Office said Oraine Rasheed Long, 28, was charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and domestic aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.

Long is being held in Clay County jail on
$150,006 bail.

Deputies tell Action News an apparent domestic dispute turned violent outside of the Sears store.

According to witness Dennis Henry, a chaotic scene unfolded right before his eyes as he was working selling Christmas trees in the parking lot outside of Sears.

"I saw the guy take out the knife. He swung and caught the next guy," said Henry.

According to Lt. Chris Coldiron, it happened around 4:20 p.m. when the suspect met with his ex-wife and her current husband for a child exchange.

"The child's father produced a weapon and basically attacked the mother's new husband and the mother of the child," said Coldiron.

Henry says he rushed to help the bleeding couple before police arrived on the scene.

"She got a stab down to her bone and the boyfriend got a stab coming across his face and got stabbed underneath his armpit," said Henry.

Crime scene tape blocked off one of the Sears exits for several hours as police gathered evidence. Henry says there was a little girl in the middle of it all who witnessed the entire altercation.

"The baby is going to be fine. She didn't have cut marks on her, she just got blood all over her," said Henry.

According to the Clay County Sheriff's Office, the suspect fled the scene but was arrested moments later on Wells Road. Police say he was with a female companion at the time.

The two victims were taken the Orange Park Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. According to the Clay County Sheriff's Office, the victim's daughter was also taken to the hospital to be with her mother.

Police are investigating a possible motive. Mall operations were not affected by the incident.

My heart aches for the child. When "parents" display this type of behavior when any children can witness it, they are selfish and apparently care nothing for the children. Is this man with the mother the husband or boyfriend? The report referred to him as both. Just asking.
