JACKSONVILLE Fla. -- Jacksonville Police have arrested the man who they say robbed and shot a Jacksonville Beach teen. It all happened at a Beach Boulevard Shell gas station on the Southside.

During a drug deal, Eric Tovey allegedly robbed and shot 19-year old-Austin Duensing three times in a car. Tovey fled on foot, but has now turned himself in. He is facing charges for attempted murder and Attempted armed robbery. One of his friends, Randall Someillan, drove off in the car six miles to the Timberwood Trace apartments off Atlantic Boulevard.

A Jacksonville Sheriff's officer followed Someillan and another unknown man to the apartments where they pulled him over. Someillan got out of his car and pointed his gun at Officer Clay Short.

"He pointed the handgun at officer Short," said Chief Tom Hackney. "(Officer Short) did not strike Someillan any of those times, Someillan did not fire his weapon at officer Short."

One of the rounds strayed into a second-floor apartment, but nobody was injured.

Someillan dropped his gun and ran into nearby woods, where police found him hiding in a tree.

"We had dogs out there, we had the bloodhounds, it took probably a good hour to find him where he was," said Hackney.

Someillan is being held at the Duval County jail, and police say he is cooperating. Police say they still need the public's help to find Eric Tovey.

The teen who was shot, Austin Duensing, remains in critical condition.
